CUSTOM SADDLES FOR YOU AND YOUR HORSE
We are based in the United Kingdom in Middlesex. The saddles are handmade in Poland.
This is an animation from a
series of still photographs taken in America by UK born émigré Eadward (born
Edward) Muybridge in 1877 to help a friend to settle a $25,000 bet that all 4
hooves leave the ground during a gallop.
50 still cameras were used, triggered by a series of wires laid along
the track. Many historians
consider that this
series of photographs laid the foundations of the film industry.
A saddle is probably the most important and expensive item
you will buy for your horse. We take saddlery
very seriously and pride ourselves on our professional attitude and attention
to detail.
·
All our saddles are made to measure for you and your
horse.
·
We use only 100% pure high-quality English and
European leathers.
·
You specify the colour scheme.
·
You don’t pay retailer markup – these are saddlery
prices.
·
The saddletrees are synthetic, therefore light and
virtually indestructible.
·
The panels use traditional wool flocking – perfect for
adjustment and comfort.
·
Forget XN, N, S, W and XW fittings. We make your saddle to measure!
We
also make headgear and other leather accessories such as girths stirrup
leathers and martingales (in matching colours if you like). The current lead time on saddles is around 6
weeks and a week on other leather items.
Occasionally we have saddles in stock for various reasons – please
ask. sales@vikaro.com

Anyway, that's when the world's
oldest riding school, the Spanish riding school, was founded. Thought you might like to know that. Did you also know that most of their huge
magnificent horses are only around 15h2?
Oh, and on November 11 1572 (Gregorian calendar of course), Tycho Brahe
first observed the supernova SN 1572 in Cassiopeia. And did you know that the Chinese New year is celebrated on the second new moon after the winter solstice? More really really useful facts below.

HOW AND WHERE WE MAKE
YOUR SADDLES
DID YOU KNOW…? The carousel you see
at a funfair was invented around 500bc (Gregorian calendar) as a training aid
for lancers in the cavalry. The riders
on the galloping horses on the carousel trained at lancing wooden rings swinging
on pieces of string. The up and down
motion emulated a galloping horse, and the swinging rings a moving target. Motive power was supplied by a galloping
horse pulling the carousel round.

This is how side saddles used to look. We are restoring this 1822 side saddle.

World dressage championships. Several medals were won on our saddles.
DID YOU KNOW…? The flocking in most
saddles is made from offcuts from the carpet manufacturing process. Only the very best saddles have white
flocking.
We are not a tack shop.
We manufacture for the horse, not for the rider, so sorry – no breeches,
brooches or decorated tea sets. Our
primary expertise is in leather goods, saddles bridles girths martingales
etc. Other goods displayed are from
other manufacturers and are those which we would recommend as having a
price/quality advantage over what you could buy elsewhere. We also manufacture harness for agricultural
purposes, carriage driving, trotting, carriages etc. as well as ladies’
sidesaddles and western saddles which are not shown here. If you don’t see what you want, please
ask. Email: sales@vikaro.com
We also sell to the trade –
equestrian suppliers, riding schools etc. Email for trade prices.
Happy shopping.
